Maybe you've read the following news on Union Square? Then you are as excited as myself about it for sure! Just let me tell you some words about the release... and then... go and buy 'em so you can rock to Slade music at a new quality in sound and varity! Union Square Music is delighted to announce that it has acquired an exclusive license to reissue the entire Slade back catalogue.Slade’s illustrious chart haul between 1971 and 1991 included over 25 Top 40 hits with no less than 6 Number One singles, and 3 Number One Albums. Frequently described as “the missing link between the Beatles and Oasis”, they are arguably the most successful UK rock band yet to receive a fully comprehensive reissue programme. Union Square will remedy this over the next year via their new label imprint, Salvo Records, and plan to re-issue the original, re-mastered albums together with bonus tracks, many of which have never been released on CD; there will also be a fully annotated Anthology Box Set in September 2006. The programme commences August 21st 2006 with the release of ‘Beginnings’, ‘Play It Loud’, ‘Slade Alive’ (featuring Slade Alive, Slade Alive II, Slade On Stage and the Reading ’80 EPs), ‘Slayed’, and ‘ Old New Borrowed And Blue’, and will continue through to 2007. 40 years after Slade were born it's now time for the first couple of albums to be re-born! You remember that Jimmy has remastered them maybe 15 years ago, they have been re-released about five times the same style and the die hard collectors bought 'em all including myself. But that's history because... ...now they have been re-remastered, re-packed, re-designed and re-arranged! The means that the original sound has been improved without losing any of the original style, just better, just a crystal clear sound, just a hard bass and big drums ment to be played on modern hifi audio systems! I've already tried and that sound knocks you really out - just "play it loud"! The means that the original artworks have been taken and printed ultra clearly, bright and colourful. On the 2-in-one albums both original artworks have been combined at historical style. The package is very high quality, including a paper folder plus a case with full inlays, also for the inside of the back tray! Modern techniques at historical style! The means that the sleeve notes have been enhanced with many rare and beautiful pictues not released before. They have included new sleeve notes, very interesting to read, good work! But I won't tell you about the content, just read for yourself! The means that the selection of music has been massively enlarged! Yes, them boyz at Union didn't just remaster that good old stuff, no, they even included rarities new been on official CD releases before. That means, the b-sides, the reading EP and some interview will now come to CD at highest quality you can imagine! Wow! Just take a look at the releases to come and feel the noize over and over again Available in UK from August, in Germany from September! My final words about the release are: the best quality release in Slade ever, go and buy 'em, you won't regret!
